Carole A. Williams, 86, of Providence, R.I., went home to Glory to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, December 7th, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard B. Williams, Sr. A lifelong resident of Providence, she was a daughter of the late Walter Sr. and Mary-Jane (Cross) Johnson.
Carole worked at Brown University as office manager for over 30 years until her retirement. She was a cherished and active member of the Immanuel Baptist Church for over 40 years, and was involved in many church, community, and civil activities. She also served as the church clerk and taught Sunday school for many years. Above all she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sibling, who enjoyed caring for her family. She will be deeply missed by all.
Carole is survived by - sons, Bryan D. Johnson (Denise), Richard B. Williams, Jr. (Dawn), John C. Williams (Nicole), Gerald R. Williams (Lisa), Raymond M. Williams (Tricia), Steven A. Williams (Courtney), Juan Howie (Denise); 22 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 6 siblings, Arthur Johnson, Michael Johnson (Barbara), Joan Calvit (Lee), JoAnn Fernandez (Raymond), Glenn Cardozo (Debra), David Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Antone B. Johnson; and 8 siblings, Walter Johnson Jr. (Jane), John Johnson (Gloria), John Cardozo Jr. (Renee), Alice Watson (Raymond), Mildred Morgan (Robert), Lynn Rodrigues (David), Allen Johnson (Julie), and Kay Lawson (Lloyd).
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, December 20th from 9:00am – 11:00am at Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave., Lincoln, followed by a funeral home service at 11:00am with Pastor Fredrick A. Bryden of Immanuel Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, R.I.
